Camping In East Sussex (Part 6)

I predict soon it will be hard for me to recall which 'Part' I am on.

No matter where you go in England, you can always count on finding amazing pub grub. Luckily for us, it was about 10 feet away from our camper van. The Red Lion in Broad Oak Brede was not just a dinner, it was an experience. I ate with chickens. No, I did not eat them, I ate with them. Which, with me being a vegetarian, felt like something to write in my book of things I'm going to remember till I die. One of them had a severe limp though, which almost brought on a heart attack when a customers dog saw the advantage of a very slow bird (Don't worry, the dog's lead meant that no blood was shed)

I had scampi and a G&T, because I like to be classic at all times. Then I followed this with Banoffee Pie, which was the prettiest thing I had ever seen, and tasted pretty nice as well. However sadly it was a desert I feel they put more effort into the looks than taste. To sum up, I've had better Banoffee Pie.

Camping In East Sussex (Part 5)

One of the many things that occurred on my short camping trip was that the town of Rye officially became one of my favourite places in England. I've never seen so many vintage and antique shops, the place is built out of them. Well, them and Tudor houses.

Camping In East Sussex (Part 4)

The rest of our venture in to Battle was pretty awesome. The home of The Battle of Hastings has so much to offer for such a small town, one of these offerings obviously being the location of the fight itself (as well as a few adorable tea rooms)

This tree reminded me of The Lion King, hence why I took a picture of it.

Camping In East Sussex (Part 3)

There's a town not far from Broad Oak Brede called Battle, it gained this name after being the home of The Battle of Hastings. It is also the home of a little museum I visited named 'Yesterday's World'. However when you step through it's doors, you are taken back a bit further than the day before.

My mother was in her element, she somehow managed to relate to every single piece she saw and had a novel length story to tell every five minutes. The museum was by far the sweetest place I had ever visited and I would recommend it to anyone who has a soft spot for vintage.

Camping in East Sussex (Part 2)

Long time, no post. I've had a very hectic few weeks recently, with my plans of moving to Southampton for University finally becoming a reality. I am finally settled into my halls and already meeting a huge array of personalities (all lovely much to my happiness). I thought today I would give you a casual face of the day from my camping trip. A short but sweet post.

Camping in East Sussex (Part 1)

Recently, me, my mother and step-father decided we needed a last minute break away from our normal day to day lives. So we booked a pitch at the first camp site we could think of, packed up my mums VW and hit the road.
We ended up heading to a village called Broad Oak Brede, located somewhere between Hastings and Rye. It was beautiful, and I took more pictures than I could count. Today I thought I would show you just a few of them. Ones that will let you see just how picturesque our temporary home was.

I come from a family of pretty dedicated campers, and one thing me and my mum have to make whenever we hit the road is baked bananas with melted chocolate. You will never eat anything better when all you have to cook with is a barbecue.

I have many more pictures to come and am really looking forward to showing them to you. The trip was almost perfect, minus a family camping round the corner from us who weren't quite as relaxed as they should have been.

PS. Thank you so much for the followers I have recently gained. I hope you enjoy the future posts I have planned.
